Silk Clay® fairytale world

1 Mix the different colours of Silk Clay® balls as shown in the pictures for steps 1-6.

Start by making a pink ball by mixing purple and light pink. Tip: The drying time for small Silk Clay® parts is relatively short – around 10-20 min. If it gets too dry to stick together, you can moisten the dry area with water and it will stick together again.

2 Mix the two balls (white + green) to create the colour of the third ball (light green).

3 Mix the first two balls (yellow + white) to create the colour of the third ball (light yellow).

4 Mix the first two balls (white + purple) to create the colour of the third ball (light purple).

5 Mix the first two balls (red + yellow) to create the colour of the third ball (orange).

6 Mix the first two balls (red + yellow) to create the colour of the third ball (light orange).

7 Create fairytale figures from your imagination or a small mushroom figure as shown here. See steps 8-10 for this figure.

8 Roll a ball for the head and mould a cone for the body. Mould the mushroom hat into a ball and make an indentation on the inside. Also roll a small flat piece for the scarf.

9 Attach the head to the body. Wrap the scarf around the figure, squeeze it to secure it around the neck and add a decorative bead. Add the eyes and hat. Now decorate the mushroom hat with small white Silk Clay® balls pressed flat onto the hat.

10 Decorate the hat with a small flower. Put five small light blue balls together on the hat and place a light yellow ball in the middle.

11 Make a small fairy house by following the instructions in steps 12-32.

12 Roll out a piece of light yellow Silk Clay® until thin.

13 Place a polystyrene egg on top and roll the egg inside the Silk Clay® piece.

14 Press the Silk Clay® around the egg.

15 Press and mould it until it covers the entire egg.

16 Roll out a piece of Silk Clay® for the grass base under the house.

17 Cover the polystyrene ball with Silk Clay®.

18 Press firmly to make a solid base.

19 Use the tool to create texture in the grass.

20 Place the egg on top.

21 Roll out five petals for the roof.

22 Mould a top for attaching the roof petals.

23 Attach the petals in layers.

24 Roll out five small leaves.

25 Mould a small stem and attach the leaves to the flower.

26 Place the stem on top of the leaves and mould it into shape.

27 Roll and mould a piece of Silk Clay® for the door.

28 Use the tool to make grooves in the door. Mould the parts as shown in the picture: arch over door, small ball for the handle and a rolled piece for the threshold.

29 Attach the door with parts to the house. Mould small leaves to attach to the flowers as shown in the next step.

30 Place a bead in the flower mould. Roll balls in different colours of Silk Clay® and press them into the mould.

31 Decorate the house with the different flowers. Place them on top of the leaves.

32 Make a butterfly by rolling a long thin sausage out of Silk Clay® for the body and 4+2 smaller balls of Silk Clay® for the wings (in different colours). Flatten the balls on the wings and attach the wings to the body. Attach the finished butterfly to the roof.

33 Inspiration for a strawberry house.

34 Make three large leaves for the roof of the strawberry house and roll them out in a teardrop shape.

35 Roll out the leaves until flat.

36 Use the tool to make veins in the leaves.

37 Attach the leaves and decorate the house with flowers.

38 Inspiration for mushroom cluster.

39 Roll the mushroom hat and then the stem into a teardrop shape.

40 Attach the hat to the stem and decorate with spots.

41 Make several mushrooms in different colours and sizes. Roll out a flat grass base. Use the tool to make holes/marks in it. Add the mushrooms and decorate with a dragonfly.

42 Inspiration for a snail.

43 Roll out a thin sausage for the snail shell, roll out a sausage for the body and roll two balls for the eyes. Also cut two pieces of wire for the tentacles.

44 Place the small balls on the end of the wire pieces for the eyes.

45 Roll up the snail shell.

46 Attach the shell to the body.

47 Insert the tentacles with eyes.

48 Make a butterfly to place on the snail shell by rolling four teardrop-shaped pieces for the wings and a small sausage for the body.

49 Attach the wings together.

50 Attach the wings to the body.

51 Attach the butterfly to the snail shell.

52 Inspiration for Little Miss Bug.

53 Wrap Silk Clay® around the polystyrene body.

54 Roll a thin sausage and use it to create a heart around the face. Leave the bottom of the heart open.

55 Roll out a new piece of clay and attach it around the neck up to the two heart ends, leaving the throat area open. Cover the head with Silk Clay®.

56 Make two large and two small wings. Use the tool to make grooves and then decorate with beads.

57 Cut and bend two antennae. Roll two small balls of Silk Clay®, place them on the antennae and insert into the head. Also attach the wings to the body – first the small ones and then the large ones.

58 Decorate the bug. Make a flower out of five small balls, place it on the head and decorate with a bead in the middle. Roll small balls and press them onto the bug’s body.

59 Inspiration for small beetles – with and without wings. Roll a ball of Silk Clay® for the body, a ball for the head and two balls for the eyes. Attach the head and eyes to the body. For the beetle without wings, make grooves in the body to indicate wings. Decorate with small balls that are pressed flat onto the body. Create more beetles using your imagination.
