Pair of elves made of wooden beads and felt

1 Print the PDF for the idea. Cut out the parts in red and purple felt as shown. Cut 3 pieces of satin cord to 30 cm each.

2 Find 6 pairs of beads for the arms and legs, 2 beads for the body and a wooden bead for the head.

3 Use 2 pipe cleaners for each elf. First pull the pipe cleaner through the leg beads, then through the body and out through the arm beads. Do this on both sides. Both pipe cleaners pass through the body.

4 Now pull the pipe cleaner back through the two innermost beads on the arm.

5 Twist the ends together at the top.

6 Place a small dab of sticky base on the pipe cleaner between the last two beads on the legs.

7 Slide the bottom bead up, bend the pipe cleaner upwards and cut off the end.

8 Attach a small dab of sticky base to the base to hold the bead in place.

9 Apply some sticky base around the twisted top and pull the wooden bead down over it.

10 Make a loop with the silk ribbon and tie a knot. Attach the loop with sticky base to the top of the red felt piece. Apply a strip of sticky base along the edge of the felt piece and glue the piece together to make a pointed stocking hat.

11 Cut off the excess pipe cleaner at the top. Apply sticky base around the top of the wooden bead and around the edge of the hat on the inside.

12 Press the hat onto the top of the wooden bead.

13 Tie a bow on a piece of satin ribbon and cut off the ends. Place a small dab of sticky base between the middle of the arms.

14 Press the bow firmly.

15 Draw a face on the elf with a black marker.

16 Apply a strip of sticky glue along the edge of the purple felt piece.

17 Attach the piece around the elf. Turn it around.

18 Find beads for the elf boy. Repeat steps 3-12 and draw a face.

19 Attach the scarf with a dab of sticky base.
