Apply water to the fabric surface of the mouse mat using a brush.

Brush Textil Silk paint onto the surface – either pure or diluted with water. Experiment with both options, causing the surface to change in colour.

Sprinkle silk salt onto the wet Testil Silk paint and leave to dry.

Brush off the silk salt.

Dab Textile Solid paint onto your hands or fingers and print fun designs onto the mouse mat. Leave to dry.

Use paint and a foam pencil brush for the eyes. Leave to dry.

Use a plastic lid dabbed with Textile Solid paint (on the rim) to make bubbles.

Add further details with textile markers.
A tip
You may draw sketches of possible designs first. What can handprints and fingerprints be transformed into? The fish are made with a thumb print and the tails with fingerprints.
