Create your own fun 3D pictures with collage frames and Silk Clay®. Create a butterfly out of flowers, a fish under water or fill the frame with fun and crazy monsters. Only your imagination sets the limits.

How to do it

Start by painting the frame with 1-2 coats of Plus Color craft paint if you want a coloured frame for your picture.

Now fill the frame with a thin layer of Silk Clay® in the desired background colour. Make sure that the modelling clay is pressed all the way out to the edge.

Create a design out of Silk Clay®. A butterfly has been made here. Model the individual parts outside the frame first, so that you can adjust the shape and size before attaching the figure to the frame.

Press the individual parts onto the frame.

You can then add details to make the design unique. Mould small balls of white modelling clay and press them into place as eyes. Add smaller black balls for the pupils. Also add details to the butterfly’s wings and make balls that are then joined together to form flowers on the edge of the frame.

Use modelling tools to create extra details, such as grooves in the petals.

Here you can see a different variant with a fish under water. Use modelling tools to 'draw' stripes on fins and shells.

You can also choose to fill the entire frame with fun monsters. Start by filling the frame with Silk Clay® in different colours. Then add details like eyes, a mouth, fangs, eyebrows and horns and attach them to the different Silk Clay® pieces to form a monster on each.

The entire frame shown here is filled with fun figures. If you want to hang up your finished artwork, you can add a self-adhesive picture hanger to the back of the frame.
