How to embroider contour stitches

#v16640

Contour stitches create a stronger 'line' and are often used at the edges around a subject or as a line on their own. Put up the needle in the middle of a regular stitch and put it back down half a stitch in front of the last stitch. You can sew the stitches from the left or the right, depending on which side you are holding the thread on.
