A Hat with two Pom-Poms made on a Knitting Loom

1. Start by securing the yarn by tying it onto the small peg on the side of the knitting loom. Now wrap the yarn around each individual peg (making loops around each peg) on the knitting loom. Cast two rounds in this fashion.

2. Use the knitting hook which is part of the knitting loom kit. Make stitches by lifting the lower row loops over the upper row and off the pegs around the whole of the knitting loom.

3. Cast on a new row of stitches/loops around the whole of the knitting loom.

4. Continue this process until you have reached the desired length. NB: keep the yarn slack when lifting the loops over each peg when knitting the final two rows.

5. This is how to cast off: lift two stitches/loops simultaneously off the pegs using the knitting hook.

6. Pull the stitch/loop on the left through the stitch on the right.

7. When the casting off is complete, the knitted piece is a tube. Turn the tube inside out and sew one end together, creating a hat. NB: as an alternative you may use the tube as a neck gaiter instead.

8. Make two pom-poms for the hat. Use the smallest of the four-part pom-pom maker set.

9. You may assemble the pom-pom with a piece of thin thread rather than yarn.

10. Sew the two pom-poms onto each of the two corners of the hat.
