Woven Baubles made from Vivi Gade Design Paper Strips

1.   Cut one end of all four paper strips at an angle as shown.

2.   Staple the paper strips together in pairs.

3.   Assemble the two sets of paper strips and weave as shown.

4.   Tighten the woven section at both of the stapled ends and feed the paper strip on the far left (blue) underneath its “partner” (red).

5.   Feed the paper strip on the far right (green) over its “partner” (pink).

6.   ... and underneath the blue paper strip.

7.   All four paper strips now appear like a woven square.

8.   Continue the weaving technique seven times and a “bauble” appears. Tighten between each weave to make sure that the woven section doesn't become too loose.

9.   Secure the paper strips at the end, color by color, above and beneath the “bauble”.

10.   Secure the ends by weaving another round on the “bauble”. This time between the two layers of paper strips.

11.   Trim each paper strip at a suitable length, long enough to secure it with another round on the “bauble”.

12.   Hide each trimmed paper strip underneath the nearest, transverse paper strip.
