Flat cotton wick dipped in stiffening paraffin wax and with a small aluminium plate at the end. Used for candle making with candle gel, rapeseed wax or a mix of stearin, paraffin and pure wax..
How to mould candles: First pour a small amount of candle mass into the bottom of the mould and place the wick’s small plate in the middle of the mould – then the candle mass acts as a kind of glue and keeps the wick in place. Now pour the hot candle mass into the mould and make sure that the wick is standing upright. Let a little of the wick poke out from the candle mass so that you can light the candle when it has cooled down.
If you cast candles in a candle glass, you can decorate them in many different ways:.
- Decorate a candle glass with dried flowers from the garden or nature
- Bring Christmas atmosphere inside with cinnamon sticks and dried oranges that you can wrap around your candle jars with natural string
- Use a glass and porcelain marker to draw cute motifs around the glass
