Let the pupils experiment with primary colours and mix colours on paper and card.
Then paint different, naive symbols, masks, faces and birds that can appear during the colour mix.
Paint a piece of natural twine with black paint and place it carefully on top of the painted base. Either choose a specific shape or arrange the twine randomly.
Remove the twine when the black paint has transferred onto the base.
Give each pupil a 3D canvas and let them paint a painting based on what they have now learned.
You may use the colour wheel learning poster to discuss colour mixing, primary colours, complimentary colours, etc.
