Draw a trophy base template by folding a piece of paper and cutting a symmetrical shape.
Draw the trophy base on thick card.
Cut a small animal face from an egg box. The different types of egg boxes lend themselves to different animals, depending on whether they are short, pointed, narrow or wide. Consider whether the animal should have ears, or whether the egg box should simply form, for example, the beak of a bird with a small head made from thick card.
Paint the head and base in different colours using opaque craft paint and leave dry.
Decorate the base with Posca markers, 3D liner, pipe cleaners, glitter or similar.
Add life to the face with beaded eyes, foam rubber eyes, googly eyes, a plastic nose, foam rubber teeth, antlers from branches, dots and add further details with Posca markers, whiskers from bonsai wire, a mane from carded wool, yarn hair, feathers and a king's crown from foam rubber etc. You are only limited by your imagination!
You may let the pupils write small, finely crafted text about each trophy: Species/name, habitat, lifestyle, etc. The texts can be hung up with the trophies when they are exhibited at school.
