Cut out feathers from watercolour paper and decorate them with watercolour markers. Spray water onto the watercolours using a spray bottle, a water brush and pipette so that the colours run together. Use an airbrush for spraying the watercolours onto the watercolour paper.

1   When you have added watercolous to the watercolour paper, you may apply water onto the watercolour paper using the following techniques; spray with a spray bottle or add water with a pipette. Alternatively use an airbrush and watercolour markers. Use watercolour markers in several colours on watercolour paper.

2   Spray water onto the decorated watercolour paper using a spray bottle. Move the paper around for the colours to mix together. You may dab the excess water with slightly scrunched-up piece of paper and leave the watercolours to dry.

3   Spatter large drops of water onto the decorated watercolour paper by hand once dry. Large drops of water result in large spots.

4   Here is the dried watercolour paper ready for use.

5   Paint the watercolour paper with watercolour markers in several colours. Spray with water for the colours to mix together. Leave the paper to dry.

6   Paint sections in a different colour once dry and add water on top of the coloured sections using a water brush. Let the colours run and mix with the other colours. Leave the paper to dry.

7   Here the paper is dry and ready for use.

8   Using a pipette enables you to control the colours. Drip water onto your chosen areas until the colours run.

9   Dab the excess water with a slightly scrunched-up piece of paper.

10   Use an airbrush whilst the paper is still wet, spraying more colours on top.

11   Here is the dry paper, ready for use.

12   Glue two dry pieces of decorated watercolour paper together so that the feathers are decorated on both sides. Cut out the feathers using the template and attach a piece of sewing thread for hanging.
