Relief Technique on Glass

For a surface with a 3D effect on glass, it's easy to make patterns with the relief paint 'Kreul Structure Designer' and then dab opaque glass paint on top. The type of paint you see here must be fixed in an oven to make it dishwasher safe.

1   Wipe the glass prior to decorating to ensure a non-greasy, clean and dry surface. Draw directly onto the glass with the drawing tip on the bottle of the 'Kreul Structure Designer' and leave to dry completely.

2   Dab Kreul glass paint on top using a foam stencil brush. Here we have chosen transparent gloss paint. Leave to dry completely.

3   Fixing in the oven: Place the decorated item in a cold oven. Set the temperature to 160°C (do not use a fan oven). Fix for 90 minutes. Leave to cool slowly in the oven for approx. 45 minutes.

4   The three variants of the porcelain paint from Kreul (matt, opaque and transparent gloss) are dishwasher safe at a low temperature after being fixed in the oven.
