Knitting techniques

To knit is a traditional craft. But knitting isn't just knitting. There's lots of different knitting techniques with different styles you can try to make - learn a lot of them on this page. Here's both techniques for beginners and intermediates.

    Learn how to knit the Brioche stich. Knit the set-up only once, setting up for the Brioche stitch: Knit 1 (the edge stitch) and then *yarn over, slip a stitch purl-wise, knit 1*. Repeat from * to * to the end of the row and finish with an edge stitch (knit 1). Do not repeat this row. Knit all the following rows as follows: Knit 1 (the edge stitch) and then *yarn over, slip a stitch purl-wise, knit 2 together*. Repeat from * to * to the end of the row, finishing with an edge stitch (knit 1).

    Here we are showing a couple of different ways of working beads into your knitting. You may have to adjust the beads slightly as you go along. Be careful to choose beads with a hole size big enough to be threaded onto the yarn.
