How to do it
Guide step %d
1   Pomegranate: Cut the parts using the template – red for the apple and green for the stem and leaves.
Guide step %d
2   Cut a serrated edge at one end.
Guide step %d
3   Shape and stretch the crepe paper with your finger to fit around a polystyrene ball.
Guide step %d
4   Glue the crepe paper around the ball – the ends of the paper must be able to reach at one end and there should be excess paper at the other end.
Guide step %d
5   Close the top of the ball and glue the ends to the ball.
Guide step %d
6   Make a slight twist at the end and glue the crepe paper to the ball so that it becomes a small rosette at the bottom of the ball.
Guide step %d
7   Dip the tips of the rosette into glue and then into the glitter.
Guide step %d
8   Shape the leaf by pulling it in the middle around your thumbs. Roll the long strip to make the stem and glue as you roll.
Guide step %d
9   Glue the stem and leaf to the ball and allow to dry for 2–3 hours.
Guide step %d
10   Drums: Cut the drum pieces using the template. There is a template for the harlequin pattern and the triangle pattern on the side of the drum.
Guide step %d
11   Glue crepe circles at both ends of the cardboard tube. Cut notches around the edge of the circle and glue them flat onto the cardboard tube.
Guide step %d
12   Cover the sides of the cardboard tube with strips of crepe paper. Glue on the strips and allow to dry.
Guide step %d
13   Glue decorations on the side of the tube. For example, decorate the drum with triangles or red crepe paper windows. Also make triangles with gold string glued to the top and bottom. Place the triangles around every 1 cm.
Guide step %d
14   Glue ribbons around the drum on both the top and bottom. Also glue a hanging cord to the top edge.
Guide step %d
15   For drum with string: Cut 16 x 4.5 cm of gold string.
Guide step %d
16   Make sure all of the drum strings are the same size: Place four pieces of string crisscross and use a pencil to mark the end of each string on the drum edge.
Guide step %d
17   Apply glue to the marks and allow to dry (approx. 3 min.). Glue two strings on each mark and then glue them together in pairs between the marks on the drum bottom.
Guide step %d
18   Glue on edge trim and string for hanging.
Guide step %d
19   Crepe rosette: Cut a strip for the rosette.
Guide step %d
20   Fold the paper on the narrow side (1 cm). Fold the entire paper alternately on one side and then the other.
Guide step %d
21   Cut 30 cm of gold string and double it. Tie the string tightly around the centre of the folded crepe paper.
Guide step %d
22   Unfold the rosette into a circle and glue the sides together. Glue the string from the middle to one side and tie a knot for hanging. Tip: Hold the rosette together with a paper clip until the glue dries completely.
Guide step %d
23   Glue a circle of crepe paper to the centre of the rosette.
Guide step %d
24   Apply glue to the centre and edge of the rosette and then sprinkle/dip with glitter.
