A Christmas Tree from coloured Aluminium Wire on a Cernit Stand
Each Christmas tree is made from flat aluminium wire in three colours. Each wire is bent using chain nose pliers and then glued together to make a tree on a cernit stand.
How to do it
Bend a 32 cm piece of aluminium wire in the middle to make the tree trunk. Cut six pieces of aluminium wire in different sizes for the branches of the tree.
Branches: Bend a short piece of aluminium wire in the middle over the pliers.
Branches continued: Bend a long piece of aluminium wire in the middle over the pliers.
Make a curl at both ends of the bent 'branch'.
Build up the tree with branches. Begin with the largest branch.
Use instant glue for attaching all the branches.
Form a square tree stand from cernit. Push the two-part 'trunk' onto the cernit stand. Let it dry slightly. Place the tree and stand in the oven for approx. 20 minutes at approx. 120°C to harden the cernit.
