Bracelets braided around a Jewellery Chain and Leather Cords

Macramé cords are used for braiding and attaching leather cords onto a piece of jewellery chain. Finish each end of the bracelet with an end cap, oval jump rings and a silver clasp.

How to do it

1.   Cut two approx. 30cm long pieces of leather cord and two approx. 50cm pieces of macramé cord. Assemble the four ends and glue them in place in an end cap.

2.   Make the process easier by using a macramé board. Attach a piece of jewellery chain measuring approx. 20cm and the four cords assembled in an end cap to the macramé board.

3.   Feed the black macramé cords around both leather cords and into the first section or ring of the jewellery chain and out underneath the leather cords.

4.   Continue this technique until the desired length of the bracelet is reached.

5.   Cut off the excess jewellery chain.

6.   Cut the macramé cords and the leather cords leaving them approx. 1cm longer than the chain.

7.   Assemble the four ends and glue them in place securely in an end cap.

8.   Attach an oval jump ring to both end caps and attach a lobster claw clasp to one of the oval jump rings.
