How to do it

1   Start by kneading the clay to make it soft.

2   Divide the clay into two pieces, one slightly larger than the other (to create bowls in two different sizes).

3   Roll out the clay flat to a thickness of around 5 mm.

4   Fold up the edges all the way around to create a wavy edge.

5   Dip your fingers in a little water and smooth out any cracks in the clay. Now allow the clay to dry at room temperature for around 48 hours.

6   If the clay has cracked after drying, you can easily repair it. Start by wetting the clay where the crack is.

7   Next, fill in the crack with a tiny bit of clay. Now smooth out the clay and allow to dry.

8   Paint one bowl in a solid colour that covers the entire bowl.
