A Woven Picture made from Yarn and Beads

1. Wind the warp thread (cotton twine) four times around the first block on the loom. This procedure locks it and keeps it securely in place.

2. Thread the warp threads (cotton twine) back and forth between the blocks on the loom. Finish by winding the thread four times around the last block on the loom.

3. In order to keep the warp thread (cotton twine) in place safely, you may attach a piece of masking tape on the outside of the loom.

4. Insert a wide lolly stick at the bottom and the top of the loom through the warp threads (cotton twine) in order to create a border to the edge of the loom. This non-woven edge is necessary for enabling you to make tassels from the warp threads (cotton twine) afterwards.

5. Insert/weave the acrylic yarn up and down, back and forth. When changing the color of the yarn, start and finish from the middle (approx. eight warp threads – cotton twine - from the side in order to avoid yarn ends at the sides of the woven picture. All yarn ends should be at the back of the woven picture.

6. Use the comb to firmly push the woven yarn in place.

7. Whilst weaving, thread beads onto the yarn. Place them between two warp threads (cotton twine) and include as part of the weaving.

8. Remove the lolly sticks and remove the woven picture from the loom. You may remove the masking tape.

9. Carefully cut open the warp thread loops (cotton twine) and tie them around the flower stick in pairs.

10. Secure the yarn ends on the back of the woven picture. Tie knots and trim. Attach a piece of golden thread onto the flower stick at the top for hanging.
