How to do it

Print and cut out the template available as a PDF file for this idea. Cut out all the parts for the flower. Remember to follow the stretch direction shown on the template. Choose the size of your peony. The number of leaves on the template is only an example. The number of leaves must be dividable with 3.
Round each petal with a bone folder by pulling the petal between the bone folder and your thumb; the same technique as curling a ribbon with scissors.
Shape the petal by stretching the middle of it, so that it becomes round. Repeat this procedure with all the petals.
Twist the edge of the petal back and forth along the entire edge in order to create a wavy edge. Repeat this procedure with all the petals.
Attach the first petal onto the lower part of the stamen. Start with the smallest petals. Attach three petals staggered around the stamen. Now attach another three leaves between the first three petals. Continue with another three middle-sized petals etc.
Attach three leaves onto the floral stem wire, thus covering the bottom of the petals. Stretch out the long thin piece of green crepe paper (1 x 20 cm). Fasten one end onto the bottom part of one of the leaves. Cover the floral stem wire by wrapping the crepe paper at an angle around the floral stem wire, securing with Multi Glue as you go along.
Shape the leaves and attach them onto the floral stem wire as you go along with a glue gun, whilst continuing to cover the floral stem wire with crepe paper, thus hiding the ends of the leaves underneath the crepe paper.
