Each of the heads shown are made from a balloon covered with papier-mâché. Facial features, hair etc. are painted on the head using Art School acrylic paint.

Guide step 1
Step 1.
Image-wise (spatial intelligence): Children's spatial intelligence is enhanced when working with designs. For example, papier-mâché.
Guide step 2
Step 2.
Me-wise (personal intelligence): When children express their own personality whilst learning about everyone's diversity, their own personal intelligence is enhanced.
Guide step 3
1.
Blow up the balloon and attach the balloon holder without the stick.
Guide step 4
2.
Cover the balloon with layers of torn pieces of blank newspaper attached with wallpaper paste.
Guide step 5
3.
Cut a 20cm piece of the balloon stick and insert it into the holder on the balloon. Now shape the neck by covering the balloon stick with blank newspaper and wallpaper paste. Make sure to achieve a smooth transition between the stick and the balloon. You may let the paper dry between applying layers.
Guide step 6
4.
Model facial features and hair onto the balloon with more newspaper and wallpaper paste. Let it dry for one to two days.
Guide step 7
5.
Cut a clean milk or juice carton in half. Fill it with casting plaster and stand the balloon head in the carton (i.e. the balloon stick). The actual balloon head will rest on the edge of the carton. NB: shorten the balloon stick beforehand if necessary.
Guide step 8
6.
Paint the head and facial features with Art School acrylic paint and let it dry.
