How to do it

1
Cut four 3 x 19 cm pieces of bamboo veneer for covering the sides of the wooden clock box. Make sure that the
craft knife is very sharp so that the veneer doesn't split when cutting.

2
Attach the pieces of bamboo veneer onto the edges of the wooden clock box using hobby glue.

3
Cut six 3.2 x 19 cm pieces of bamboo veneer to cover the front of the wooden clock box. Cut three of the six pieces in half.

4
Cut each of the remaining three pieces of bamboo veneer into three pieces; two pieces measuring 5 cm and one piece measuring 9 cm.

5
Glue the pieces onto the clock face of the wooden clock box with hobby glue. Begin the first row by glueing two half pieces of bamboo veneer onto the front. In the next row, glue the pieces that were cut in three as shown in the photo. Repeat this pattern.

6
Gently sand the edges and the clock face using a fine sanding sponge.

7
Draw the numbers onto the clock face using a template, then brand the numbers with a pyrography tool. Brand through in the middle of the bamboo veneer which covers the hole for the clock mechanism.

8
Attach the clock mechanism using the instructions on the packaging.
