A Bag Vase with a Crocheted Edge

Cut holes along the edge of the bag vase and crochet a border into these holes using Fantasia yarn.

Guide step %d
1.   Fill the bag vase with hot water to unfold it and empty it again. Make holes along the edge of the vase with revolving punch pliers the same size as the crochet hook which will be used, so that the crochet hook can pass through the hole. If using a No. 4 crochet hook, make 17 holes in each side, totaling 34 holes all the way around.

2.   Crochet 20 chain stitches using black yarn. This is one ribbon which hangs down. Now continue with double crochet stitches all the way around the edge.

3.   Finish this row with 30 chain stitches to make the other ribbon for hanging down.

4.   Change the colour of the yarn to turquoise and continue with double crochet stitches all the way around the edge on top of the black.

5.   Crochet 3 chain stitches and crochet the end together. Then crochet 9 double crochet stitches down the middle, forming a small ring/flower. Repeat step No. 5 so you have two small flowers for the two ribbon ends. Sew the small flower onto the ribbon end with a different colour yarn, forming the core/centre in the middle of the flower.

6.   The yellow/green flower: Crochet 5 chain stitches and crochet the end together, forming a ring.

7.   Crochet 12 double crochet stitches all the way around.

8.   Crochet 3 basic treble stitches in the same stitch. Crochet one chain stitch, skip one and crochet in the next stitch. Repeat six times in total.

9.   Change the colour of the yarn to green. Crochet three chain stitches, one double crochet stitch down into the first chain stitch, forming a small bump. Then one double crochet stitch in the next hole. Repeat step No. 9. Attach the flowers to the vase using Power Tape.
